STRUCTURE AND CONFORMATION
Full registration dogs are warranted that the general structure, conformation and cosmetic points meet the breed standard well enough that the dog will be considered show and breeding quality. In males this includes testicles dropping.
If your dog reaches 24 months and has been shown at least 5 times under 3 different AKC, CKC (Canadian, not Con), UKC, FCI, and/or IABCA judges and has not received at least 1 Winners/Reserve Winners, V2, or FCI rating, or is ever DQ from any AKC, CKC, UKC, FCI, or IABCA show for conformation reasons, you need to contact us.
Failure to place or DQ for something other than faults, such as judge’s preference, behavior, presentation, temperament, lack of control, lack of grooming, or handler errors do not meet criteria for replacement.
Limited registration dogs are no warranted to fit the breed standard well enough to be classified as a show/breeding prospect, but are warranted against structural or cosmetic faults that affect the dog’s working/performance abilities or quality of life.
TEMPERAMENT
We do not offer any sort of temperament warranty or guarantee. Only a small percentage of temperament and personality is inherited or leaned at a young age. The majority of a dog’s temperament is influenced by life experiences after 12 weeks of age. This means that you have the largest responsibility in shaping your dog’s final temperament.
GENERAL EHALTH
For your warranties and guarantees to become active, you must send us proof your dog was seen by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours after acquisition. There is no excpetion to this. If during this visit, or in the first 5 days after acquisition, your vet determines your dog was unfit for sale due to symptoms or signs of infectious or contagious disease, you must contact us. We will pay for a second option at a veterinarian of our choosing. If the second veterinarian agrees with the diagnosis, we will pay all vet bills, provided treatment is carried out by a veterinarian of our choosing. If we deem it in the dog’s best interest, we will pay for euthanasia and replace your dog.
Internal and external parasites, coccidian, and giardia and not covered by any warranty.
OFA testing is optional but highly recommended. If initial testing is not done in the time frames stated in the contract, dog will not be replaced for failing results.
HIP/ELBOW/PATELLA
We guarantee BILATERAL hips, elbows and patellas, provided that the x-ray, exam is done between 24 and 26 months of age. This gives you a 2 month window to have it done. If your dog is given a borderline, mild, moderate, or severe in both sides, you need to send us copies of the x-rays, along with the dysphasia report. We will pay for a second evaluation 6 months after the first evaluation. If the second evaluation still shows BILATERAL dysphasia, we will replace your dog.
Unilateral dysplasia is often caused by environmental factors and we do not warrant against that.
EYES
We warrant eyes, provided evaluation is done between 12 and 18 months of age. If eyes do not pass, and your dog received a CAER Ineligible Code. Breeder Option Codes, however, do not quality for replacement, but we ask that we are informed.
CARDIAC
Your dog is warranted against cardiac issues, provided you obtain cardiac certification between 12 and 18 months of age. As cardiac issues are not prevalent in our breed, we do not care if it’s basic or advanced.
GENETIC
We do not warrant against DNA based issues, because your dog was fully tested for anything genetic prior to sale.
OTHER INHERITED OR CONGENITAL
Your dog is warranted against all over inherited and congenital defects for life. If your veterinarian believes that your dog has a condition not listed above, that is suspected to be inherited or congenital in nature, you must contact us. We will pay for a second opinion with a specialist. If the specialist agrees that the problem is inherited or congenital, then we will replace your dog.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY DOG NEEDS TO BE REPLACED?
If your dog has a health problem that is warranted, and you have not voided the warranties, you need to contact us, and let us know.
Your vet must send all medical records pertaining to the issue at hand. We will not accept medical records sent by you, only by your veterinarian. All records must contain clinic name, veterinarian’s name, phone number, veterinarian’s license number, your name, dog’s registered name, and microchip number.
We will review everything and make the determination. If the problem does indeed require a replacement, you may have choices.
If the fault or health problem is severe enough that it clearly affects the dog’s QOL, we will require that you euthanize the dog at our expense.
If the problem does not affect your dog’s QOL, you may choose to return the dog at our expense, along with all registration papers, signed over to us.
If the problem does not affect your dog’s QOL and you prefer, we will allow you to spay or neuter your dog, at our expense, at a veterinarian of our choosing. You must return all registration papers, and keep your dog.
Whichever route is chosen, you will be put at the top of our waiting list for a replacement dog.
WHAT WILL VOID OR NULLIFY MY WARRANTIES?
There are some things that will void your warranties and guarantees.
Do not have your dog seen by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours after acquisition
Change your dog’s registered name.
Register your dog with a non-legitimate or pet registry
Rehome dog without contacting us
Allow your dog to become overweight or underweight, or abuse or neglect your dog
Allow veterinarian to perform any unnecessary tests or procedures on your dog
Allow your veterinarian to restart puppy vaccines, re-vaccinate dog, or use a different vaccine protocol than is stated in the contract.
Take your dog to public places and expose your dog to strange dogs whose vaccination and health history are unknown sooner than the 7 day window after the 16 week puppy vaccine.
Do not keep your dog on suitable and appropriate parasite control.
Do not care for dog, including nail, dental, skin/coat care.
Perform cosmetic procedures including, but not limited to cropping ears, docking tail, removing dew claws, without medical reason.
Feed unapproved commercial dog food.
Traditionally neuter (full hysterectomy or castration prior to 24 months of age.
Breed your full registration dog prior to meeting requirements
Breed your limited registration dog at all without contacting us to lift the limited registration.
If you do any of the above, your warranties will be null and void, and you will not receive a replacement dog for any problems.
